COLUMBUS, Ohio – More than 70 former Ohio State women’s soccer Buckeyes returned to Columbus last weekend for Alumni Weekend.
The weekend included a facility tour of the Schumaker Complex, a welcome event at the Varsity Club, a chance to watch the football Buckeyes vs. Minnesota and the women’s soccer Buckeyes’ matches against Rutgers and Maryland.
“It was great to see all of our alumni to share memories and see all of them with their families,” Lori Walker-Hock, Ohio State head coach, said. “To be able to spend some time with them and see what amazing women they have become was fantastic.”
“It was amazing to have such a great turnout.” Cassie Dickerson (2008-10 and current director of player development) said. “The 25th anniversary brought back players from the first few years of the program along with the first Ohio State head coach, Lori Henry. Getting to spend time and share stories, it became evident the extraordinary women this program attracts and produces. Ohio State women’s soccer will always connect us and we’re so lucky to have such a special program that will always feel like home.”
“It’s really exciting to be back to see so many old teammates,” Lauren ‘Taz’ Robertson (2006-09) said. “It’s great to see some of the older alumni who paved the way for us because they helped give us such a great opportunity. The University is growing so much and to see the team and how much they have advanced is awesome. It’s something that’s great to be a part of and it’s really good to be a Buckeye for life.”
“It’s great to see everybody,” Kendyl Reed (2009-12), said. “You were able to see them excel on the field for four years or however long you played with them and now you come back and see them succeeding in many of the other aspects of their life. You’re really able to see the true dedication of all of these people and it’s so much fun to come back to your Buckeye family.”
