Buckeyes Open Season with OSU Open and OSU Duals

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeyes are set to open home competition this week with the OSU Open and OSU Duals. Competition is set to take place at French Field House starting at 9 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Saturday will be the OSU Open featuring individual completion and OSU Duals on Sunday will consist of team competition.
Teams in attendance this weekend include club and varsity squads from Toledo, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Cleveland State, Case Western Reserve, Purdue, Xavier, Bowling Green, Oberlin, McKendree, Denison, Indiana, and Iowa.
A YEAR AGO
Last season, the Buckeyes came out of the weekend with a dominating performance on both days of competition. Starting with the OSU Open, Ohio State had four take first place and 21 others in the top-10 of their respective weapon categories. At Duals, the men’s team finished with a record of 193-23, holding three teams without a touch. The women’s unit finished 184-32, sending all teams away with a loss.
After sweeping last year’s competition, the Buckeyes are looking to extend their sweep streak to 14 consecutive years.
