
Three Buckeyes Register Top-25 Showings in Briar’s Creek Invitational

JOHN’S ISLAND, S.C. – Jaclyn Lee, Katja Pogacar and Niki Schroeder each recorded 54-hole totals of 219 (+3) at the Briar’s Creek Invitational, all earning a share of 22nd place in the 93-player field. It marks the fifth Top-25 performance of the season for Lee and Schroeder, and the 28th in Pogacar’s impressive career.
Ohio State tied Texas Tech for seventh place overall among 18 teams competing in the large field. The Buckeyes rose two slots on the final day, wrapping up the event with a 2-over 290 on Tuesday (March 21).
Pogacar and Schroeder both started off red hot, dipping into the 60’s in Round One. Pogacar notched a 3-under 69 while Schroeder did one better, carding a 68 (4-under). Lee reached her 219 total via a less varied route, posting scores of 72-75-72. Pogacar concluded her tournament with rounds of 78-72 and Schroeder came in at 75-76 after her sizzling first round.
Rio Watanabe and Jessica Porvasnik came up big in the final round, contributing a pair of 73’s to the team tally. Zoe-Beth Brake, representing OSU as an individual, concluded as the fourth-highest Buckeye finisher. She shot 75-77-71 (+7) to crack the top half of the leaderboard in a tie for 43rd place.
