COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jessica Porvasnik dropped in four birdies to record a 2-under 70 in the opening round of the Clemson Invitational, tied for fourth place overall on the 94-player leaderboard. The Buckeye senior is two strokes back from event leader, Furman’s Alice Chen (-4), entering Saturday’s Round Two.
Porvasnik is ahead of 23 Golfstat Top-100 players after ranking first in Par-3 scoring (-2) and fourth on the Par 5’s (-1).
Zoe-Beth Brake also played well and is cracking on the Top-25 door. She owns a share of 27th place at 2-over (74). Brake, Porvasnik and Rio Watanabe all ended the day on a high note, birding the 18th hole. Watanabe, playing as an individual, is tied for 51st place following her 4-over 76.
Ohio State is slotted T-10th in the team standings among 17 schools competing.
