PEORIA, Ariz. — Sunday’s second round at the Westbrook Spring Invitational treated Ohio State very well, climbing from 10th place following Round 1 up into fourth place (295-287) entering Monday’s final round. The Buckeyes registered a 1-under 287 in the second go-around to lead all teams in that round while ranking as the second-lowest round overall on the day (New Mexico State shot 286 in the first).
Ohio State crushed it on both the Par 3’s (-1) and Par 4’s (+5), ranking first and second in the field, respectively. It was a roller coaster ride for the Buckeyes throughout the day, knocking down six more birdies than any other team (19) while simultaneously recording the fewest pars.
Jessica Porvasnik paces the squad at even par, tying for the team-low in both rounds with scores of 73-71. Her opening round mark of 73 was matched by Zoe-Beth Brake while Jaclyn Lee also dipped under par at 71 in the second. Porvasnik owns a share of 11th place through 36 holes. Lee is back a lone stroke at 1-over and tied for 16th on the leaderboard with tallies of 74-71.
