Ohio State Earns 195.975 in Tri-Meet with No. 25 West Virginia, Bowling Green – Ohio State Buckeyes

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team posted a 195.975 to finish second in a tri-meet with No. 25 West Virginia and Bowling Green Sunday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum. The Mountaineers won the meet with a 196.800 while the Falcons finished third at 195.725.
Ohio State started the meet on balance beam, posting a 48.800. Tenille Funches posted a team-high 9.800 on the event.
The Buckeyes then moved to floor exercise, tying their season-best 49.100 as Stefanie Merkle posted a season-high 9.900 to tie for third.
Ohio State went to vault in the third rotation, earning a meet-best 49.050. Jamie Stone tied her career-high 9.875 to win the event while Kaitlyn Hofland posted a career-high 9.850 to finish second.
The Buckeyes then finished the meet with a 49.025 on uneven bars. Hofland again led the Buckeyes with a 9.850 to tie for third.
Hofland posted a 39.275 to tie for second in the all-around.
The Buckeyes host a Big Ten Five-Team Meet at 4 p.m. March 12 in St. John Arena.
