COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State men’s basketball team has earned the No. 7 seed in the 2016 Big Ten Tournament. The Buckeyes will play No. 10 seed Penn State at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
The Buckeyes, 19-12 overall, 11-7 in Big Ten regular-season conference play, won the lone meeting against the Nittany Lions (16-15, 7-11), 66-46, Jan. 25 at Value City Arena in Columbus.
Ohio State leads the overall series with Penn State 32-14. The Buckeyes are 17-4 in Columbus and 12-8 in State College. Ohio State owns the edge on neutral courts 3-2. The Buckeyes are 3-1 vs. PSU in Big Ten Tournament history. Thad Matta is 3-0 vs. the Nittany Lions in Big Ten Tournament play.
The winner of the Ohio State vs. Penn State game will take on No. 2 seed and second-ranked Michigan State at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
