COLUMBUS, Ohio — Katja Pogacar is one of two golfers under par through 36 holes at the Gator Invitational, good for sole possession of second place in the 75-player field. The Buckeye junior is three shots back from tournament leader Rachael Taylor (-4) of North Carolina State and owns a two-stroke cushion over the rest of the competition at 1-under.
The Buckeyes (+21) are in a three-way tie for fourth place, even with No. 18 Florida State and SMU, within two shots of 36-hole runner-up North Carolina State (+19) and a stroke clear of No. 9 Kent State (+22). Jaclyn Lee and Jessica Porvasnik aided heavily in the team effort, each grabbing a share of 11th place overall with two-round totals of 144 (+4).
Pogacar racked up 27 pars on the day, ranking second in the event. She added in five birdies, too, joining Porvasnik as the team leaders in that category. Pogacar carded scores of 69-70 (-1) while Lee and Porvasnik reached their 144 sums via slightly different routes. Lee posted back-to-back 72s and Porvasnik went 71-73.
Niki Schroeder accompanied the aforementioned trifecta as two-time contributors to the team tally. She registered mirror rounds of 77 and is tied for 52nd overall. Lina Aguillon, playing as an individual, owns a piece of 61st place at 16-over and Zoe-Beth Brake notched tallies of 80-81 (+21).
