LINCOLN, Neb. – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team earned a 195.875 to finish fifth in the evening session of the Big Ten Championships Saturday evening at Devaney Center. The 195.875 team score ties No. 18 Iowa for fifth place overall at the Big Ten Championships.
The Buckeyes opened the meet on balance beam, posting a 48.700. Maggie Dunn led Ohio State with a 9.775 on the event.
After a bye in the second rotation, Ohio State tallied a 49.050 on floor exercise in the third rotation. Taylor Harrison and Alexis Mattern each earned a 9.850.
The Buckeyes then moved to vault, posting a 49.025. Mattern and Michelle Burns each notched team-best scores of 9.825.
Ohio State wrapped up the meet with a season-best 49.100 on uneven bars. Kaitlyn Hofland earned a career-high 9.900 to tie for third on the event while Rachel Abrams and Mattern each posted a 9.825.
Mattern totaled a 39.175 in the all-around while Harrison notched a 39.100.
Ohio State awaits selection for the NCAA Regionals, with the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships Selection show being held at 4 p.m. Monday on NCAA.com. The championship features a field of 36 teams determined based on their Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) and seeded by the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Committee. NCAA Regionals will be held on April 2 at six predetermined campus sites.
