• Ohio State leads the all-time series with the Nittany Lions 33-14. The Buckeyes own the edge on neutral courts 4-2.
• Ohio State has won 23 of its last 30 league tournament games, including 15 of the last 18
• This is the first time Ohio State has participated in the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 7 seed
• The Buckeyes have been seeded higher in 22 BTT games all-time and are 20-2 in those games.
• Ohio State is participating in its 104th season as a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Buckeyes have an overall record of 795-700 against the current alignment of the conference.
• Ohio State has now recorded at least 20 wins in each of Thad Matta’s 12 seasons as head coach at Ohio State and in all 16 seasons as a head coach. Only Mark Few at Gonzage has a longer streak among active coaches with 17.
• The 27 fouls committed by Penn State are the most by an Ohio State opponent this season. Northern Illinois recorded 25 on Dec. 16, 2015
• The 27 fouls committed by Penn State are the most by an Ohio State opponent in Big Ten Tournament history. Two teams have recorded 26 with Iowa doing it March 9, 2001 and Nebraska most recently on March 14, 2014
• The Buckeyes tied their season high with 39 free throw attempts. Ohio State previously recorded 39 free throw attempts vs. Illinois Jan. 3
• The 39 free throws attempted by Ohio State also ties the school record for most in a Big Ten Tournament game. The Buckeyes last attempted 39 free throws vs. Iowa on March 9, 2001
• Ohio State trailed 37-34 at halftime. The Buckeyes are now 4-9 this season when trailing at the half and 51-70 overall under Matta
• Ohio State recorded its first comeback win after trailing by 10 or more points since overcoming an 18 point deficit vs. Nebraska March 14, 2014. Ohio State trailed 48-30 with 13:45 remaining in the second half in that game. The Buckeyes went on to win 71-67
• The Buckeyes limited Penn State to 2-10 shooting from three in the second half
• Ohio State had four players in double figures as Marc Loving had 24, JaQuan Lyle recorded 22, Trevor Thompson finished with 10 and Keita Bates-Diop scored 14

• Ohio State outrebounded Penn State 41-33 and is now 14-0 this season when outrebounding an opponent
• The Buckeyes recorded seven blocks and have now recorded seven or more blocks 12 times this season
• Thad Matta is 319-106 during his career at Ohio State and 421-137 overall as a head coach.
• Matta is 21-2 vs. the Nittany Lions during his head coaching career, which includes a 4-0 record in Big Ten Tournament play

• Keita Bates-Diop recorded his 500th career point
• Bates-Diop finished with 14 points, six rebounds, one assist and one block
