Ohio State Posts 196.350 to Win Tri-Meet at Rutgers – Ohio State Buckeyes

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team earned a season-high 196.350 to finish first in a tri-meet with Rutgers and Yale Saturday afternoon at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
The Buckeyes opened with a 49.050 on uneven bars. Kaitlyn Hofland posted a career-best 9.875 to tie for first on the event while Samantha Kent tied her career-best 9.850 to tie for third.
Ohio State then tallied a 49.100 on balance beam as Hofland earned another career-best 9.925 to take the event title.
The Buckeyes then posted a 49.075 to take first in floor exercise. Alexis Mattern earned a 9.900 to win the event while Taylor Harrison posted a 9.850 to finish second.
In the final rotation, Ohio State tallied a 49.125 on vault. Jamie Stone tied her career-best 9.875 to take first on the event while Alexis Mattern finished second with a 9.850.
Harrison won the all-around title with a 39.175.
The Buckeyes host Penn State in a co-ed meet at 4 p.m. Feb. 13 at St. John Arena.
