
Buckeyes Leap Iowa State on Windy City Collegiate Final Day

GOLF, Ill. – The No. 20 Ohio State University women’s golf team moved up into 11th place on the final day of the Windy City Collegiate, surpassing Iowa State on a 296 last go-around. Jessica Porvasnik paced the Scarlet & Gray for the second straight tournament, earning a share of 12th place on the individual leaderboard.
Porvasnik came in at even par for the competition, carding rounds of 69-72-74. She has contributed to the team tally in all five rounds of stroke play during the 2016-17 season and owns a team-best 70.80 season stroke average. The Hinckley, Ohio, native has registered 27 career finishes in the Top-25.
Fellow senior Katja Pogacar flew up the leaderboard on Tuesday (Oct. 4), gliding upward 24 slots on the strength of a 2-under 70 final round. At the end of 54 holes, Pogacar found herself in a tie for 22nd place overall in the 78-player field.
Jaclyn Lee chipped in three scores to the team total, boasting a consistent ledger of 74-73-74 (+5). At 5-over, the sophomore finished in the top half of the field — tied for 32nd. Classmate Niki Schroeder posted nearly identical scores (75-73-74), grabbing a piece of 38th place just one shot back from Lee (+6).
Alex Wright and Rio Watanabe rounded out the Buckeye lineup, wrapping up at +12 and +13, respectively.
