Buckeyes Place 10th at Dick McGuire Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Ohio State University women’s golf team wrapped up its season-opening contest with a 10th-place finish in the 18-team Dick McGuire Invitational. Zoe-Beth Brake dropped in an eagle on the final day, one of just seven recorded in the event.
Jessica Porvasnik and Rio Watanabe tied for 40th on the individual leaderboard, representing Ohio State’s top-two finishers. Each Buckeye posted a 54-hole sum of 225 to go 6-over. Porvasnik showed little variance posting subsequent rounds of 76-74-75 while Watanabe was a bit up and down with a 2-under 71 second round sandwiched in between a pair of 77’s.
Katja Pogacar and Niki Schroeder cracked the top half of the 104-player field as well, coming in at T-45th and T-50th, respectively. Both Buckeyes began play carding even par (73) in round number one before following it up with tallies of 78-75 for Pogacar and 75-80 for Schroeder.
Zoe-Beth Brake contributed a pair of scores to the team tally. Her second-round 73 proved to be Ohio State’s second-best of the tournament. Overall, Brake tied for 54th place at 10-over (229). Lina Aguillon also donned the Scarlet & Gray out in New Mexico, competing as an individual. The team’s lone senior registered a 243 (+24; T-93rd).
