COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Big Ten Conference announced the men’s hockey league slate for 2015-16 Wednesday, with a six-game homestand highlighting the Ohio State schedule. Each B1G team plays 20 conference games, with 10 home and 10 away, with four games against each league foe.
Ohio State season tickets and Big Ten packages for new accounts are on sale now and can be secured with a deposit for as little as $50 a seat. Fans interested in becoming a season ticket or Big Ten package holder can contact the Ohio State Athletic Ticket Sales Department at 1-800-GOBUCKS (select option 2) or AthleticSales@osu.edu for pricing, details and information. Information on season ticket renewals and single game tickets will be released soon. All but one of the Buckeyes’ home games in 2015-16 will be played in Value City Arena, with the lone exception a matchup vs. Michigan March 6 in Nationwide Arena.
Five of the Buckeyes’ first six B1G games will be on the road. The team opens Big Ten play Dec. 4-5 at Minnesota, closing out the first half of the schedule. Ohio State returns from its December break at the Florida College Hockey Classic Dec. 28-29 before heading to Wisconsin for two B1G games Jan. 8-9. The series vs. the Badgers begins a stretch of 18-consecutive conference games to close the regular season.
Ohio State’s first Big Ten home game will be Jan. 15 when it hosts Michigan. The Buckeyes and Wolverines will close the home-and-home series Jan. 17 in Ann Arbor, Mich. The squad will then host three league series in a row, facing Penn State Jan. 22-23, Michigan State Jan. 29-30 and Minnesota Feb. 12-13.
The Buckeyes will head to State College for two games vs. Penn State Feb. 19-20 before hosting Wisconsin Feb. 26-27. Ohio State travels for a game at Michigan March 4 and will then play its final home game March 6, hosting the Wolverines in Nationwide Arena, home of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets. The regular season concludes with two games at Michigan State March 11-12.
All six teams will compete in the Big Ten Tournament, which will be held in the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn., March 17-19. It is the second time the tournament will be played at the home of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild; Ohio State advanced to the tournament championship game in the inaugural B1G tourney in the arena in 2014.
