Two Buckeyes Notch Top-10 Finishes at Gator Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A pair of Ohio State women’s golfers, Jan Chanpalangsri and Katja Pogacar, earned top-10 status in the SunTrust Gator Invitational. Both Buckeyes completed the 54-hole event at 14-over and tied with six other players for 10th place. Ohio State came out in sixth place of the final team standings.
Chanpalangsri was the top OSU performer from start to finish, getting it started with a 75 on Friday. She followed with tallies of 72 and 77 in subsequent rounds to capture her third Top-10 placement in seven tournaments as a senior. Pogacar rattled off scores of 78-71-75 to grab her piece of 10th. It marks the fourth Top-10 of the sophomore’s young career.
Claudia Lim, Jessica Porvasnik and Rio Watanabe made up the rest of the Buckeye lineup, contributing two scores each to the team tally. Lim chipped in a 77 and 76 to start the weekend before slowing down a bit and registering an 82 in the final round. Porvasnik sandwiched a second round 76 with 80s on both sides while Watanabe went 78-83-77. The OSU trio tied for 46th (Lim), 51st (Porvasnik) and 59th (Watanabe).
Lina Aguillon, playing as an individual, concluded the trip in a tie for 72nd place at 36-over (85-78-83).
