Buckeyes Place Fourth of 17 Schools at Web.com Intercollegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Ohio State University women’s golf team registered another top-5 finish at the Web.com Intercollegiate after shooting 4-over 292 on the final day. Ohio State has placed among the top five teams in five of nine events this season. All six Buckeye individuals finished in the top half of the 96-player field.
Sophomore Katja Pogacar put forth her second consecutive individual top-5 performance, earning a share of fifth place in the Web.com Intercollegiate 10 days after tying for fourth en route to Ohio State’s team title at the MountainView Collegiate. Fellow second-year players Jessica Porvasnik and Rio Watanabe joined her in the top-25. Porvasnik grabbed a piece of 16th while Watanabe came in at T-22nd.
Pogacar was consistent throughout, showing little variance in firing scores of 72-70-71 (-3). Porvasnik proved considerably steady as well in shooting 71-73-74 (+2). Watanabe (+3) ended up in the top-25 taking a different route, utilizing a second-round 69, bookended by 75s, to springboard up the leaderboard.
Claudia Lim (+5) wasn’t far behind in a tie for 29th place. She was the opposite of Watanabe, sandwiching a 77 in the middle round with even par 72s in her first and last trips around the course. Zoe-Beth Brake, playing as an individual, ended as Ohio State’s next highest finisher coming in at 7-over (T-35th).
Jan Chapalangsri aided the OSU effort on Monday, contributing tallies of 73-72 to the team total before going 8-over (80) in the last round and settling for a share of 48th place.
