TUCSON, Ariz. – The Ohio State University women’s golf team is tied for second place with one round to play at the MountainView Collegiate Invitational. The Buckeyes carded a two-round total of 571 (-5) and are a lone stroke back from the tournament-leading Panthers of Florida International University (-6).
Ohio State’s second-round 283 was the second-lowest team round out of 40 total on the day. FIU laid claim to the top spot in the team standings by virtue of a 282 in round number two. The Buckeyes dropped in 34 birdies on the day, third-best in the field. Only 20 percent of the 20-team contingent remains under par through two days.

Pogacar was dialed in on the Par 3s, going 2-under on such holes. She averaged a birdie every fourth hole, burying nine on the day to earn a share of fifth place on the individual leaderboard. Pogacar registered a pair of rounds under par, following up an opening round 71 with a sizzling 4-under 68 in her second circuit around the course.
Jan Chanpalangsri and Jessica Porvasnik matched even-par 144s and sit in a tie for 20th place. Porvasnik carded rounds of 71-73 while Chanpalangsri surged in round two 75-69. Porvasnik racked up eight birdies, matching teammate Claudia Lim’s total, and Chanpalangsri excelled on the Par 5s. Chanpalangsri ended -6 overall on Par 5s, including an eagle. Zoe-Beth Brake completed an eagle as well.
Brake tallied back-to-back 73s to seize a piece of 36th place at 2-over. Lim rounded out the Buckeye lineup, contributing a 73 to the team tally in round one before going 76 in the second stanza. Overall, Lim is tied for 51st place at 5-over.
Rio Watanabe, playing as an individual, is tied for 45th place after identical rounds of 74 (+4)
