COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 22 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team topped Rutgers, 194.875-193.800, Sunday afternoon at St. John Arena.
The Buckeyes opened the meet on vault, winning the event, 48.875-48.675. Tenille Funches won the event with a 9.875 while Taylor Harrison finished third with a 9.800.
Ohio State moved to bars in the next rotation, tallying a 48.850-48.475 win. Rachel Abrams took the event title with a 9.825 while Sarah Grady finished second at 9.800.
The Buckeyes then notched a 48.025 on balance beam in the third rotation. Grady notched a team-best 9.750 to finish third.
Ohio State wrapped up the meet on floor exercise, winning the event 49.125-48.850. Alexis Mattern and Stefanie Merkle each posted a 9.875 to tie for the event title while Funches finished third with a 9.850.
Mattern won the all-around with a career-high 39.125 while Funches finished second at 38.750.
The Buckeyes travel to Penn State at 4 p.m. Saturday.
