No. 24 Ohio State Tallies 195.200 at No. 11 Penn State – Ohio State Buckeyes

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 24 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team fell to No. 11 Penn State, 196.275-195.200, Saturday afternoon at Rec Hall.
Ohio State began the meet on uneven bars and posted a 48.700. Tenille Funches finished third with a team-best 9.825.
The Buckeyes then moved to vault, earning a 48.775. Michelle Burns won the event and tied her career-high 9.850 while Jaine VanPutten tied for third at 9.800.
In the third rotation, Ohio State tallied a 48.975 on floor exercise. Alexis Mattern and Stefanie Merkle tied for fourth with a 9.825.
The Buckeyes closed the meet on beam with a 48.750. Sarah Grady tied for first with a 9.850 while Mattern tied for third with a 9.800.
The Buckeyes host Boise State at 7 p.m. Feb. 20.
