After four consecutive road games (and road games in eight of the last nine outings to start the second half of the year), Ohio State returns to Columbus for its next three games. The squad will host Wisconsin at 6:30 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday in Value City Arena, followed by a game vs. Michigan at 7 p.m. Feb. 20.

Buckeye junior Sam Jardine cut the lead in half with his first goal of the season. He shot the puck in from the neutral zone and it took a funny bounce off the wall and went in behind Minnesota goalie Adam Wilcox at 9:41. Junior Craig Dalrymple had the assist on the goal. Shots were 8-5 in favor of Minnesota in the period.
Minnesota scored the only two goals of the second period. Just nine seconds into the stanza Boyd tallied for a 3-1 Gopher advantage and he completed his hat trick at 14:16 with a power play goal. Minnesota outshot the Buckeyes, 12-5, in the period.
In the third, Minnesota’s Kyle Rau scored on the power play at 4:00 to make it a 5-1 lead. At 12:42, Buckeye freshman Victor Bjorkung’s shot from the point found the back of the net with the Buckeyes on the power play. Rookie Matthew Weis and junior Anthony Greco assisted on the goal, Bjorkung’s second of the year. Greco now leads the Buckeyes with 16 points, with Weis tied for third with 14, including a team-high tying 10 assists. The game’s final goal came from the Gophers’ Michael Brodzinski on the power play at 15:01. Each team had eight shots in the third period.
