BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The No. 22 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team defeated Bowling Green, 195.650-195.200 Friday night Anderson Arena.
Ohio State opened the meet on uneven bars, tallying a 48.625. Rachel Abrams, Tenille Funches and Sarah Grady each led the way to tie for third with 9.775 scores.
The Buckeyes then moved to vault in the second rotation, winning the event 48.925-48.850. Taylor Harrison and Stefanie Merkle tied for the event title with a 9.850. The score tied a career high for Harrison and set a career best for Merkle.
After two rotations, Ohio State held a 97.550-97.400 lead.
Ohio State moved to floor exercise in the third rotation, earning a season-best 49.200. Alexis Mattern set a career high with a 9.925 to take the event title while Harrison tied her career-best 9.850 to tie for second.
The Buckeyes then capped the meet with a 48.900 on balance beam, paced by a career-high and event-best 9.875 from Tenille Funches.
Funches finished second in the all-around with a 39.150 while Mattern took third with a career-high 39.075.
The Buckeyes host Rutgers at 2 p.m. Sunday.
