Buckeyes Climb Two Spots on Final Day of Westbrook Spring Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

PEORIA, Arizona – The Ohio State University women’s golf team shot an even-par 288 on their last go-around at the Westbrook Spring Invitational, ascending two places in the team standings and finishing fifth overall (289-293-288) in the 15 team-field. Three Buckeyes found themselves inside the individual top-20 by tournament’s end.
Rio Watanabe, a redshirt freshman, was the top OSU performer earning a share of 12th place individually. She was steady throughout racking up 42 pars, the second most of any one in the tournament. Watanabe (72-73-71), as did four of the other five Buckeyes competing, saved their best for last with a personal low on Monday.
Jan Chanpalangsri came out the gates hot on Sunday with her low of 70. She followed with tallies of 74-73 to end up at 1-over and tied for 16th place. Katja Pogacar (73-73-71) matched her with a T-16th showing as well, precisely cruising through the Par 3s with an overall ledger of 2-under on the shorter holes (second best in the field).
Jessica Porvasnik varied little in her round scores, notching rounds of 74-73-73 (+4) to grab a piece of 28th place. Claudia Lim got in going on the final day, contributing a 73 to the team tally and finishing in a tie for 65th place (79-75-73). In addition, Zoe-Beth Brake competed as an individual and carded an even-par 72 in the last round.
