Yoder Named to U.S. Senior National Team – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Future Buckeye Alec Yoder was named to the U.S. Senior National Team at the conclusion of the 2015 Winter Cup Challenge Saturday in Las Vegas.
Yoder, a native of Indianapolis, finished eighth overall in the all-around with a two-day score of 171.250. He placed in the Top 10 in three events, highlighted by a third-place tie on pommel horse with a two-day total of 30.050. Yoder also captured seventh on high bar with a two-day aggregate of 28.700 and 10th on still rings (28.300).
Former Buckeye All-American Brandon Wynn also retained his spot on the national team as he successfully petitioned onto the squad. Wynn is currently recovering from knee surgery.
Performances at the 2015 Winter Cup Challenge helped determine the 15 men who will comprise the U.S. Men’s Senior National Team through the 2015 P&G Gymnastics Championships in Indianapolis Aug. 13-16. The six members of the 2014 World Championships squad, plus the alternate, retained their spots on the national team. The remaining eight spots were determined based on the following criteria: the Top 3 ranked all-around athletes not already on the senior national team; two based on the National Team Points System; two athletes selected by the Men’s Program Committee; and one selected by the national team coordinator.
