Ohio State Tops Arizona Twice Out West – Ohio State Buckeyes

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team took a pair of matches against Arizona over the weekend in Tucson. The Buckeyes scored 101 points on Saturday and 89 points on Sunday.
Ohio State swept all four routines each day. Emma Baranski posted season-high scores on both days in the solo routines with an 87.700 on Saturday and 87.4667 on Sunday. Elizabeth Davidson posted scores of 85.750 and 85.933.
In the duet, the Buckeye duo of Lorraine Hack and Alyssa Hoying topped the Wildcat duo of Maggie Gauthier and Mataya VandenBerge with scores of 83.400 and 84.733. The trio routines of Hack, Hoying and Monica Velasquez-Stiak scored 83.450 on Saturday and a season-high 84.4667 on Sunday. Baranski, Davidson and Khadija Zanotto came in just behind them with an 83.176 and an 84.100.
The Buckeyes also came out on top both days in the team routine as Katie Spada and Noelle St. John joined Baranski, Davidson, Hack, Hoying, Velazquez-Stiak and Zanotto collect two good scores of 89.050 and 88.2667.
Ohio State will return to action on Saturday, March 7 at the North Regional Championships. That will be the last meet before OSU hosts the U.S. Senior Collegiate Championships on March 26-28.
