Ohio State In Seventh Place After 36 Holes of Windy City Collegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

CHICAGO, Ill. — The Ohio State University women’s golf team shaved 11 strokes off its first-round tally and climbed three slots in the team standings during round number two of the Windy City Collegiate. The Buckeyes are in seventh place of the 15-team tournament after carding subsequent scores of 295-284–579 (+3).
Rio Watanabe has paced the Buckeye lineup from start to finish, shooting even par in the opening round and following it up with a 2-under 70 in her second trip around the course. Her 142-total is good for a share of 14th place out of 83 players. Playing as an individual, Jaclyn Lee, posted the team’s best first-round score. She shot a 1-under 71 before going 1-over in round number two. At even par for the event, Lee is tied for 24th place with a team-high nine birdies.
Zoe-Beth Brake and Katja Pogacar each contributed to the team total in both rounds and are tied for 31st place at 1-over (145). Brake bested her morning round score of 75 with a 2-under 70 in the afternoon round. Pogacar showed less variance between rounds, registering scores of 73-72.
Northeast Ohio’s Niki Schroeder and Jessica Porvasnik were in the OSU lineup as well. Schroeder put forth two counting scores carding 75-72 and is tied for 43rd place. Porvasnik is three strokes back, tied for 59th at 6-over (77-73).
