Madison, Wis.— For the second straight night Ohio State fell to no. 3 Wisconsin by a score of 8-0. The Buckeyes will drop to 2-2-0 on the year.
The Badgers scored two goals on 23 shots in the first period. Emily Clark and Annie Pankowski, both of whom had multi-point efforts in game one of the series, scored the goals for Wisconsin in the period. Clark’s goal came just thirty seconds into the game, with Pankowski’s goal coming a few minutes after.
The second period featured four Wisconsin goals. 5:33 into the period, Ohio State brought in Selena Hunter to play goalie. It was Hunter’s first career appearance for the Buckeyes and she would finish with 29 saves in just over 34 minutes between the pipes.
In the final period the Badgers would score twice en route to an 8-0 final score. Ohio State recorded 19 shots in the game, nearly doubling its total from the night before. In addition to that, the Buckeyes shut out the Badgers on the power play, killing all four opportunities that Wisconsin had with an extra skater.
After starting the season with four consecutive road games, the Scarlet and Gray will return to Columbus for the first time this season. WCHA foe and current-no.1 team in the nation Minnesota will come to the OSU Ice Rink for a weekend series starting Oct. 16.
