Ohio State fencing faces two days of competition in New York – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio State fencing team will travel to New York for two days of competition. On Saturday, the Buckeyes will compete at the St. John’s Invitational in Queens, N.Y., then contend in the NYU Invitational in New York, N.Y., on Sunday.
Six teams will compete at the St. John’s Invitational, including Ohio State, St. John’s, Harvard, Penn State, Columbia and Notre Dame. Competition will begin at 10 a.m. There will be five rounds, with Ohio State starting the first round vs. Notre Dame.
At the NYU Invitational, the Buckeyes will square off against eight other teams: NYU, Columbia, Northwestern, UNC, Wayne State, Notre Dame, Yale and Columbia. The Scarlet and Gray face their host in the first of six rounds, beginning at 8 a.m.

LAST YEAR
The then No. 5 Ohio State women’s squad swept both days of competition last year at the same events, highlighted by the women’s sabre unit flawless record.
The No. 6 men’s squad drew even, 3-3, at the NYU Invitational and ended competition 1-4 at the St. John’s Invitational.
UP NEXT
The Buckeyes return to the strips on Jan. 31 to compete in the Northwestern Duals, hosted in Evanston, Ill.
