Ohio State Finishes First at Incarnate Word – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team finished first at Incarnate Word Sunday in San Antonio, Texas, vs. host University of Incarnate Word and Lindenwood. The Buckeyes captured victories in solo, team and trio competition to win their fifth-consecutive meet of the season.
Senior Yuliya Maryanko earned first place honors in the solo competition with 85.5 points. The Kharhov, Ukraine native paired with freshman Lorraine Hack to place second in the duet routine, falling to University of Incarnate Word’s duo of Katy Witta and Sydney Sprinkle by .15 points. Freshman Emma Baranski and junior Khadija Zanotto posted an 80.75 to finish third.
The Buckeye trio of Chelsea Aton, Katie Spada and Lauren Nicholson scored 81.0 points to claim the trio competition. Maryanko, Elizabeth Davidson and Morgan Boneberg notched an 80.55 to place second in trio.
The Scarlet Team, comprised of Aton, Baranski, Boneberg, Hack, Elizabeth Davidson, Nicholson, Spada and Zanotto, tallied 85.1 points to earn the victory in team competition.
Up next, the Buckeyes will look to defend their crown at North Regional Championships in St. Louis, Mo., March 1. Ohio State has captured 23-consecutive North Regional Championships.
