Fall 2014 Ohio State Academic All-Big Ten honorees
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sixty Ohio State fall student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday. In all, 977 fall sports student-athletes were recognized across the conference from field hockey, football, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball programs. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Ohio State junior Minori Minagawa (exercise science) and sophomore Kaitlyn Willette (communication) of the women’s cross country team were two of 26 conference fall student-athletes who have maintained perfect 4.0 grade-point averages.
For Ohio State, women’s soccer led the way with 13 honorees, with 12 football players honored and 11 members of the men’s soccer team recognized, followed by women’s cross country (9), women’s volleyball (7), field hockey (6) and men’s cross country (2).
