On the great shooting performance so far this season
“I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Even tonight, like the other night, we started off not shooting too well. But we went into the half shooting 60%. You’re hoping that’s something you can bank on. I’m not sure how much longer we can shoot at this clip, but I think guys are taking more pride in their shots and seeing the ball go through the basket.
On attacking the Campbell defense
“I told our veterans this is similar to playing Northwestern when Coach Carmody was there. I thought our guys did a pretty decent job of reading what we were looking for and moving the basketball. When we ran what we were supposed to run tonight we were pretty effective with it.”
On the even team scoring in the second half
“I do believe part of it had to do with the lead from the first half, but I didn’t think we had a lot of energy. I told them at halftime the biggest things I was looking for were clean rebounds and good transition, and I saw that at times, but it wasn’t the consistent push that I wanted. To that point, give them credit, they slowed it down and moved the ball around, but we didn’t quite attack the way I wanted to.”

“The way Campbell plays you have to attack the basket. Shannon and D’Angelo put in position to get to the rim pretty easily, and I took advantage of those opportunities.”
On Ohio State’s offensive rebounding?
“They had a lot of offensive rebounds and we need to take care of that in practice and in the future. Campbell played hard and crashed the glass a lot.”

On learning as the non-conference slate progresses ?
“It’s definitely a learning process no matter who we’re playing. We’re not worrying about our opponent as much as we’re worrying about our team to be the best we can.”
On scoring on the last possession of the half
“It’s an everyday situation for us. We go through that every day in practice: the extra pass, the gap penetration, reading the defense. Marc’s IQ made that play. Running that play on a consistent basis made that play. Anybody could’ve made that shot.”

“I thought we did a much better job in the second half of getting the ball into the foul line area, and attacking from there. I was proud of how aggressive we were in the second half breaking down the zone and making good decisions.”
On his team’s play in the second half
“We kept them focused by breaking up the second half into chunks. We won two chunks in a row and tied a third, and I was very proud of how much fight the team had in them throughout the second half regardless of the scoreboard.”
