Buckeyes in 23rd after Day Two of NCAA Championship – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Chipping in a second round score of 307, the No. 20 Ohio State women’s golf team is currently in 23rd place at the 2012 NCAA Championship. After an opening round of 303, the Buckeyes now total 610 at the par 72, 6,377/6,264-yard Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club in Franklin, Tenn.
Sitting atop the leaderboard by an 11-stroke margin at 571 is Alabama. The Crimson Tide and the championship field are paced by Brooke Pancake who sits in first at 6-under 138.
Leading Ohio State for the second-consecutive day is junior Rachel Rohanna who is currently tied for 32nd at 147 after a round two mark of 75 that included four birdies.
With a second round of 79, junior captain Amy Meier is tied for 75th at 152. One stroke back at 153 is freshman Claudia Lim who also tallied a score of 75 to sit in a tie for 82nd.
Rounding out the lineup with totals of 159 and 161, respectively, are junior Susana Benavides and freshman Jan Chanpalangsri. Benavides fired a second round of 78 to sit tied for 117th, while Chanpalangsri is currently in 123rd after notching a round of 81.
The third round of the championship will take place tomorrow with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. Ohio State will begin teeing off at 7:33 a.m. from the No. 10 tee.
