Buckeyes in 23rd with 18 Holes Left at NCAA Championship – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – With one round left to play, the No. 20 Ohio State women’s golf team is currently in 23rd after 54-holes at the 2012 NCAA Championship. Chipping in a third round score of 305, the Buckeyes total 915 at the par 72, 6,377/6,264-yard Vanderbilt legends Golf Club in Franklin, Tenn.
Leading the 24-team field is Alabama with a score of 13-over 877. After a rough day, the Crimson Tide’s lead was cut to two shots by Southern Cal who is in second with an 879. Oklahoma’s Chirapat Jao-Javanil and Arizona State’s Giulia Molinaro are tied for first at 4-under 212.
With an even round of 72, junior Rachel Rohanna currently leads the Buckeyes in a tie for 11th at 219. The Waynesburg, Pa., product carded two birdies after the turn to make par.
Also firing two birdies throughout the day was freshman Claudia Lim who is tied for 82nd at 230 after a third round of 77.
Junior captain Amy Meier carded a score of 81 to total 233 after three rounds.
Improving from round two by five strokes, freshman Jan Chanpalangsri notched a round of 76 to total 237. Junior Susana Benavides rounds out the lineup with a 239 after a round three mark of 80.
The fourth and final round of the tournament will take place tomorrow with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
