No. 20 Ohio State Tied for 20th After 18 Holes at the NCAA Championship – Ohio State Buckeyes

After round one of the NCAA Championship, the No. 20 Ohio State women’s golf team is currently tied for 20th-place. The Buckeyes opened the tournament with a team score of 303 at the par 72, 6,377/6,264-yard Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club in Franklin, Tenn.
Leading the field is Alabama with a score of 2-under 286, while Portland Rosen of Virginia sits atop the individual leaderboard at 6-under 66.
Pacing Ohio State through the first 18 holes is junior Rachel Rohanna who is currently tied for 18th. Carding an even 72, the Waynesburg, Pa., native fired birdies on hole Nos. 10 and 18 to counter two bogeys.
One stroke back with a 73 was junior captain Amy Meier. Meier, from Rochester Hills, Mich., tallied three birdies on the front nine en route to a tie for 27th.
After a round one score of 78 that included a birdie on hole No. 9, freshman Claudia Lim is currently tied for 95th.
Rounding out the lineup is the Buckeye pair of freshman Jan Chanpalangsri and junior Susana Benavides. Chanpalangsri is currently tied for 112th after a score of 80, while Benavides, who carded an 81, sits in a 119th-place tie.
The second round of the 72-hole NCAA Championship will take place tomorrow with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. The Buckeyes will begin play off the No. 10 tee starting at 12:59 p.m.
