All-American Christina Manning scored 28 points for the Big Ten champion Ohio State women’s track team by winning the 100m hurdles, 100m dash and placing second in the 200m dash. A in her final conference championship meet, Manning also helped bring in another 10 points as part of the 4x100m relay team that claimed the gold medal.

Simon, an exercise science majorfrom Youngstown, Ohio (Cardinal Mooney), was a semifinalist lastyear for the award that equally recognizes athletic performance andthe personal character attributes of the player.

Ohio State earned a spot in an NCAA Men’s Golf Regional, theNCAA selection committee announced May 7. The Buckeyes will travelto Ann Arbor, Mich., to compete in the 54-hole Ann Arbor Regional,May 17-19.

With a round three total of 296, Ohio State secured a spot atnationals with a sixth-place finish at the 2012 NCAA CentralRegional May 12. The Buckeyes totaled a 908 en route to their top 8finish on the par 72, 6,264-yard Scarlet Course in Columbus.

No. 4 Ohio State finished second with 145 points at the 2012Big Ten Championships May 13 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis,Ind. Michigan was crowned the Big Ten champion with 147 points,while Wisconsin rounded out the Top 3, scoring 122 points.

AliciaHerron, a senior captain on the Ohio State softball team, wasnamed to the Capital One Academic All-District V First Team for thethird time in her career May 4.
Ohio State split a doubleheader at Penn State May 11 at BeardField. The Buckeyes won game one, 5-2, but lost game two, 6-5, ineight innings against the Nittany Lions.
Ohio State finished out the 2012 campaign on a strong note,claiming a series victory at Penn State May 12 with a 4-1 victoryvs. the Nittany Lions. With two wins at Penn State, the Buckeyesbecome the first team this season to claim a series win at BeardField.

Ohio State dealt Notre Dame a 4-0 loss in the Second Round of theNCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championship May 13 at the VarsityIndoor Tennis Center in Columbus. The victory served as the148th-consecutive win at home for the Buckeyes.

MichaelHartfield won the Big Ten title in the long jump May 12 at the2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Madison, Wis., highlightingthe second day of competition from Dan McClimon Memorial Track forthe Ohio State men’s track and field team.
Ohio State finished fourth at the 2012 Big Ten OutdoorChampionships in Madison, Wis., May 13 with a total of 86 teampoints.
