Ohio State Tied for 12th after Day One of NCAA Central Regional – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 19 Ohio State women’s golf team opened the first day of the 2012 NCAA Central Regional with a 22-over 310 on the par 72, 6,264-yard Scarlet Course and are tied for 12th place.
Atop of the leaderboard is USC with a 10-over 298. Vanderbilt’s Marina Alex leads the individual leaderboard and carded a 2-under 70 at the end of day one.
Junior Rachel Rohanna finished the day with a 2-over 74 and sits tied for 12th to lead all Buckeyes. The Waynesburg, Pa., product notched a team-best four birdies, including three on the back nine.
Classmate and team captain Amy Meier carded a 4-over 76 and is tied for 29th, while freshman Jan Chanpalangsri finished the day in a tie for 56th with a 7-over 79.
Junior Susana Benavides totaled an 81 and is tied for 78th and freshman Claudia Lim closed out the Buckeye lineup with an 84.
Ohio State returns to the course for round two tomorrow with tee times beginning at 1:26 p.m. off of hole No. 1.
