Buckeyes Move Up to Eighth at NCAA Central Regional – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After carding a 302 on day two, the No. 19 Ohio State women’s golf team moved up four slots and sit in eighth at the 2012 NCAA Central Regional with a two-day total of 36-over 612 on the par 72, 6,264-yard Scarlet Course.
Southern Cal holds on to first with a 588 after totaling 2-over 290 on the day. USC’s Lisa McCloskey leads all individuals with a 3-under 141 after notching 68.
Carding a second consecutive 74, junior Rachel Rohanna is tied for seventh with a 4-over 148. After tallying four bogeys on the front nine, Rohanna responded with three birdies on the back.
Junior and team captain Amy Meier tallied a 3-over 75 on the day and moved into a tie for 15th with a 7-over 151. Classmate Susana Benavides also carded a 75 and is tied for 47th with a 12-over 156.
Freshmen Jan Chanpalangsri and Claudia Lim close out the Ohio State lineup after tallying a 78 and 79, respectively. Chanpalangsri has a two-day total of 13-over 157, while Lim has a 19-over 163.
The third and final round will begin Saturday with 8 a.m. tee times. The top eight teams and top two individuals not on the advancing teams will move on to the 2012 NCAA Championships held May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
