Buckeyes Tied for Fifth at Bryan National Collegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 26 Ohio State women’s golf team is currently tied for fifth at the Bryan National Collegiate after notching a team score of 297 in the first round on the par 72, 6,323-yard Players Course at the Bryan Park Golf and Enrichment Center in Greensboro, N.C.
At the conclusion of round one, Big Ten foe Northwestern currently sits atop the 17-team leaderboard with a team mark of 290. Katie Burnett of South Carolina is currently the top individual at 2-under 70.
Pacing the Buckeyes is junior Rachel Rohanna who is tied for second. Carding a score of 1-under 71, the Waynesburg, Pa., native’s performance was highlighted by a birdie on hole No. 2 and an eagle on the par 5 hole No. 12.
Despite a bogey on her opening hole, Kendall Prince went on to fire three birdies en route to her score of 74. The rookie from Lake Oswego, Ore., is currently tied for 23rd.
One stroke back from Prince is junior captain Amy Meier who is tied for 28th after a score of 75.
Tallying one birdie a piece, freshman Claudia Lim and junior Susana Benavides are tied for 43rd and 72nd, respectively. Lim fired an opening round of 77, while Benavides chipped in a score of 80.
Competing as an individual, senior Vicky Villanueva is tied for 52nd after a score of 78.
Round two of the competitive tournament, which features 13 teams in the top 50, will begin tomorrow with 8:20 a.m. tee times.
