No. 19 Ohio State Concludes Big Ten Championships in Third – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Totaling 898, the Ohio State women’s golf team concluded the 2012 Big Ten Championships in third after a round three mark of 303 on the par 72, 6,156-yard Donald Ross Golf Course in French Lick, Ind.
Sitting atop the league by a 10-stroke margin at 885 was Michigan State. In second was Purdue, led by medalist Laura Gonzalez who carded an even 216.
Leading Ohio State was junior Rachel Rohanna who tied for third at 218. The Waynesburg, Pa., native fired a round three score of 73 that included three birdies.
With totals of 229, junior Susana Benavides and freshmen Claudia Lim and Jan Chanpalangsri finished in a tie for 20th. Benavides carded a final round of 77, while Lim and Chanpalangsri notched scores of 80 and 75, respectively.
One stroke back at 230 was junior captain Amy Meier who tallied a 78 to finish in a tie for 25th.
Rounding out the Buckeye lineup was senior Vicky Villanueva who finished in a tie for 32nd at 234 after a final score of 81.
The Buckeyes will continue postseason play May 10-12 when they host the NCAA Central Regional in Columbus.
