COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fifty-nine Ohio State student-athletes have been named Academic All-Big Ten, the conference office announced Wednesday. In all, 615 conference student-athletes from seven sports were honored.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
The women’s swimming and diving team led the way with 19 honorees, followed by men’s swimming and diving with 18 and women’s gymnastics with nine. Men’s gymnastics and women’s basketball each had four student-athletes named Academic All-Big Ten.
