Buckeyes in Sixth with 18 Holes to Play at Mountain View Collegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Totaling 587 after 36 holes at the Mountain View Collegiate, the Ohio State women’s golf team is currently in sixth place. The Buckeyes opened day one with a team score of 295 before chipping in an afternoon round of 292 at the par 72, 6,227-yard Mountain View Country Club in Tucson, Ariz.
Posting a 6-under 570, Texas Tech currently leads the 15-team field. With 18 holes left to play, Jennifer Brumbaugh from San Jose State is the top individual with a mark of 8-under 136.
At 2-under 142, freshman Kendall Prince currently leads Ohio State in a tie for sixth. The rookie from Lake Oswego, Ore., fired an even 72 in round one before improving in round two with a 70.
Opening with a 77, junior Susana Benavides shaved six strokes in round two with a 1-under 71. Nothing a 36-hole sum of 148, the Cochabamba, Bolivia, product is tied for 27th.
One stroke back at 149 is junior captain Amy Meier. Meier, from Rochester Hills, Mich., is tied for 34th after scores of 75-74.
The duo of junior Rachel Rohanna and freshman Jan Chanpalangsri opened with a score of 74 each in round one. Rohanna would go on to card a 77 in the afternoon and is tied for 43rd at 151, while Chanpalangsri earned a round of 78 and is tied for 48th at 152.
Competing as an individual, freshman Claudia Lim is tied for 27th at 148 after scores of 75 and 73.
The third and final round will take place tomorrow with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
