Ohio State Finishes Sixth at Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12 Ohio State women’s golf team concluded the three-day Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in sixth with a three-day team total of 901. The 15-team tournament was held at the par 71, 5,912-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, California.
Top-ranked UCLA captured the tournament title with an 18-over 870, while Southern Cal finished second with three-day total of 882. Duke’s Lindy Duncan, the No. 1 individual nationally, took the individual title with a 3-under 210.
Junior captain Amy Meier finished with a team best 6-over 219. The Rochester Hills, Mich., product shot a 4-over 75 on the day to conclude the tournament tied for sixth. Classmate Rachel Rohanna carded a 77 for a three-day total of 11-over 224 to come in tied for 21st. Junior Susana Benavides finished tied for 39th after shooting a 16-over 229 over three days.
Freshman Kendall Prince put together a 7-over 78 in the final round and concluded in 54th with a score of 236. Senior Vicky Villanueva carded her best round of the tournament, notching a 73 to come in tied for 62nd with a 238.
Freshmen Jan Chanpalangsri and Claudia Lim competed as individuals for the Buckeyes. Lim had her best round of the tournament as well, totaling a 74 for a three-day sum of 233. Chanpalangsri finished the tournament with a 237.
The Buckeyes will return to action Feb. 20-21 for the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla.
