Buckeyes in Eighth with 18 Holes Left at the Central District Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After opening the tournament with a first round score of 303, the Ohio State women’s golf team improved in the afternoon with a second round of 294 to move into eighth at the Central District Invitational. Competing at the par 72, 6,218 yard River Wilderness Country Club, the Buckeyes total 597 after 36 holes.
Sitting atop the leaderboard at 8-over 584 is Oklahoma. Leading the field and the Sooners is Chirapat Jao-Javanil who is 6-under with 18 holes left.
Leading Ohio State in a tie for fourth is junior captain Amy Meier. The Rochester Hills, Mich., native posted rounds of 73 and 71 for an even score of 144. Throughout the day, Meier tallied six birdies.
Also in the Top 15 is freshman Kendall Prince, who is tied for 14th at 147. Prince, from Lake Oswego, Ore., carded a first round of 73 and a second of 74.
Posting 36-hole scores of 153, junior Rachel Rohanna and freshman Claudia Lim are currently tied for 39th. Rohanna carded scores of 80-73, while Lim fired rounds of 77-76.
Rounding out the Buckeye lineup is junior Susana Benavides who is tied for 67th at 160 after back-to-back rounds of 80.
The two-day, 54-hole event will continue tomorrow with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
