No. 12 Buckeyes Tied for Sixth with 18 Holes Left Northrop Grumman – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12 Ohio State women’s golf team fired a round two score of 302 and finished the day tied for sixth with a 30-over 598 at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The 15-team tournament has 18 holes remaining at the par 71, 5,912-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, California.
Top-ranked UCLA continues to hold first with a 2-over 570, while Southern Cal inched its way up the leaderboard for second with a 20-over 588. Duke’s Lindy Duncan, the No. 1 individual nationally, is first with a 2-under 140.
Junior captain Amy Meier leads the squad with a consistent two-round score of 144 and is in 10th place. Following a first round of 72, the Rochester Hills, Mich., native fired another 72 on the day. After finishing the front nine at 4-over, Meier rebounded with five birdies to offset two bogeys on the back nine to finish 1-over on the day.
Junior Rachel Rohanna also remains consistent and totaled a 2-over 73. She stands tied for 14th individually with a 5-over 147. Classmate Susana Benavides is tied for 27th with a two-day score of 149. Freshman Kendall Prince is tied for 63rd with a 158, while senior Vicky Villanueva is tied for 73rd (165).
Freshmen Jan Chanpalangsri and Claudia Lim are competing individually for the Buckeyes. Chanpalangsri is tied for 48th with a 154, while Lim’s two-score of 159 is tied for 65th.
The tournament concludes Wednesday with a shot-gun start beginning at 8 a.m. PT.
