No. 11 Ohio State Posts Season-High 196.125 to Top No. 23 Iowa – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team recorded a team season high to defeat No. 23 Iowa 196.125-194.425 Friday evening in St. John Arena.
The Buckeyes opened the meet on vault, posting a 49.075 to Iowa’s 48.700. Colleen Dean recorded a 9.850 to tie her career high while Taylor Jones notched a 9.825 as the Buckeyes took the top five scores on the event.
Ohio State recorded a team season high on uneven bars to top Iowa 48.925-48.875. Jones and Casey Williamson each posted a 9.825 to tie for second on the event. The score for Jones marked a season best.
The Buckeyes then moved to balance beam where they tallied a 48.925 to a 48.025 for the Hawkeyes. Sarah Miller paced Ohio State with a season-high 9.925 to take the event title and Nicole Krauter added a 9.825 to finish third.
The first four Buckeyes recorded scores that at least tied their season high to take floor exercise 49.200-48.825. Alex DeLuca posted a career-best 9.875 to tie Melanie Shaffer for the event title. Williamson tallied a season-high 9.850 to finish third and Jones tied her season high to tie for fourth.
Dean won the all-around title with a 39.150.
Up next, the Buckeyes take on No. 24 West Virginia at 2 p.m. Sunday in Morgantown.
