No. 11 Ohio State Wins Quad at No. 24 West Virginia – Ohio State Buckeyes

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 11 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team posted a 195.450 to win a quad meet at No. 24 West Virginia Sunday afternoon in Morgantown. The Mountaineers finished second with a 195.175, Auburn came in third at 193.650 and Ball State recorded a 191.775 for fourth.
The Buckeyes came in third on vault, recording a 48.750 as West Virginia won the event with a 49.075. Sarah Miller posted a team-high 9.775 to tie for sixth on the event.
Ohio State won uneven bars with a season-best 49.075. Colleen Dean recorded a career-high 9.875 to tie for second on the event while Alyssa Marohn also posted a career-best 9.825 to tie for seventh.
The Buckeyes then narrowly edged West Virginia with a season-high 49.100 to take balance beam. Miller and Dean tied for first on the event with a 9.850 while Melanie Shaffer tied for fourth with a 9.825.
On floor exercise, Ohio State posted a 48.525 to win the event. Shaffer took third with a 9.750 while Miller tied for fourth with a 9.725.
Dean finished fourth in the all-around with a 38.700.
Up next, the Buckeyes host Denver at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. John Arena.
