BTN Opens Conference Play, Presents New Studio Show
BTN continues the first week of conference play with three men’s basketball games tonight, beginning at 5:30 PM ET with Ohio State facing Northwestern. Coverage continues when Indiana travels to Michigan State for a 7:30 PM ET tip followed by Iowa taking on Purdue at 9:30 PM ET. Wednesday’s tripleheader will be surrounded by the Auto-Owners Insurance Tip-Off Show and The Finale presented by Reese’s.
The network’s new basketball studio show, Big Ten Basketball Report, presented by BMW, debuts Thursday after the Penn State-Michigan game. Tip is slated for 7:30 PM ET. The program will air following BTN telecasts during conference play.
Once again, BTN will offer studio coverage throughout the season, including the State Farm Halftime Report and Big Ten Basketball & Beyond, presented by Barbasol. The weekly program returns for its second season at 6 PM ET on New Year’s Day and will air at its regularly scheduled time of 8:30 PM ET Sundays throughout the winter.
During conference play, BTN will air Super Wednesday doubleheaders with additional games on most Tuesdays and Thursdays and frequent doubleheaders on Saturdays and Sundays.
On Friday, the network will provide live coverage of two women’s conference games as Michigan State faces Indiana and Ohio State meets Wisconsin. Start times are slated for 6 PM and 8 PM ET, respectively.
In all, the network will televise 115 men’s basketball games this season, including 68 conference matchups, four Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament games and non-conference contests. On the women’s side, the network will televise approximately 60 games, including 38 regular season conference matchups and 10 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament games.
BTN Continues Postseason Reports with Extended Bowl Coverage
BTN continues its postseason football coverage beginning at 10 PM ET on Friday, Dec. 30, with the 30-minute Rose Bowl Media Day Show, featuring press conferences with Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema, Oregon coach Chip Kelly and select student-athletes. The network’s Mike Hall and Derek Rackley will provide live reports from Pasadena.
Coverage continues on Sunday with the Big Ten Football Bowl Preview Edition at 6:30 PM ET. Rick Pizzo will host the 30-minute program alongside analysts Gerry DiNardo, Howard Griffith and Glen Mason. The analysts will offer an in-depth look at the Jan. 2 Big Ten bowl slate, examine top storylines and make predictions as each team makes its bowl preparations.
On Monday, the network will present a complete 60-minute BTN Football Pregame Bowl Edition beginning at 11 AM ET. Dave Revsine, DiNardo, Griffith and Mason will be live from Chicago to preview the Big Ten’s five Jan. 2 bowl matchups, including the Rose Bowl (Wisconsin vs. Oregon), Capital One Bowl (Nebraska vs. South Carolina), Outback Bowl (Michigan State vs. Georgia), Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl (Ohio State vs. Florida) and TicketCity Bowl (Penn State vs. Houston).
At 4 PM ET, the network will air the Big Ten Football Report Rose Bowl Preview. The show will include the latest news from both camps and DiNardo, Griffith and Mason will share their keys to the game.
Fans can also catch The Final Drive immediately following the conclusion of the Rose Bowl at approximately 9 PM ET. The program is the perfect conclusion to an exciting day of Big Ten football, providing extensive highlights and analysis from the day.
‘The Journey’ Resumes
The season premiere of the network’s Emmy-nominated documentary series, The Journey, presented by GMC, debuts January 8. The show airs at 8 PM ET Sundays. The series takes viewers deep inside Big Ten basketball programs, spending consecutive days with different teams on a rotating basis during the 10-week march toward the conference tournament.
