This week we will take a moment to individually recognize each member of the 2010 Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame class on Ohiostatebuckeyes.com. The nine members will be inducted Friday at the reception at the Ohio Union and recognized during the Ohio State-Eastern Michigan football game Saturday afternoon. Today we look at the distinguished career of track and field standout Shandelier Boyd Pleasant.

Shandelier Boyd Pleasant, a seven-time Big Ten champion and four-time All-American, set school records in the 100-meter hurdles (12.98) and triple jump (13.21 meters) as a senior. She was a Big Ten champion in the triple jump, long jump, 55-meter hurdles and 100-meter hurdles and was named All-American three times in the triple jump and once in the 100-meter hurdles. The four-time All-Big Ten selection participated in the triple jump at the 1996 Olympic Trials and the 100-meter hurdles at the 1997 USATF Outdoor Nationals. Boyd Pleasant ranked fourth nationally in the 100-meter hurdles and set the ninth-best U.S. record time in the event in 1997.
