Athletes of the Week
• Konrad Warzycha, the leading scorer of the Ohio State men’s soccer team, received national praise Monday after helping lead the Buckeyes to a pair of wins over the weekend and an unblemished record through four games. Warzycha has scored at least once in each the last three games, extending his team-leading goal total to four over the weekend. He tallied the game-winner vs. Binghamton (1-0) Friday, Sept. 10 – his second-consecutive game-winner – and the first Buckeye score against Bucknell in the team’s 2-1 win Sunday, Sept. 16. The MVP of the Penn State Classic, Warzycha has doubled his goals from a season ago after scoring four in a row over three games for Ohio State.
• Senior midfielder Aisling McKeon helped the Buckeyes to two road wins against ranked opponents this week as No. 12 Ohio State improved to 4-2 this season. In three games, she tallied eight points on two goals and four assists. McKeon has already set her career-high in assists with seven, which is tied for the team lead. At No. 11 Louisville, McKeon was a major factor of the Buckeye offense with four points on a goal and a pair of assists in Ohio State’s double-overtime victory Sept. 8. In a competitive game vs. third-ranked Virginia, McKeon led the way with three points on a goal and an assist Sept. 11. Against the Lady Monarchs, McKeon rounded out the weekend with her seventh assist of the season in the Buckeyes’ comeback 2-1 win Sept. 12. McKeon is second on the team in points with 11 this year.
