Ohio State Travels to Florida State for 2010 ACC/Big Ten Challenge
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State, tabbed by some publications to be among the Top 5 teams nationally heading into the 2010-11 season, will travel to Florida State to take on the Seminoles in the 2010 ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Buckeyes will meet FSU Nov. 30 in Tallahassee in a nationally-televised game on the ESPN family of networks with station and time to be determined. – MORE –

Evan Ravenel Joins Buckeyes From Boston College COLUMBUS, Ohio – Thad Matta, head coach of the Ohio State men’s basketball team, announced the addition of Evan Ravenel to the roster for the 2010-11 season. A rising junior, Ravenel played two years at forward for Boston College before making the decision to transfer. – MORE –
Lighty Suffers Broken Bone in Left Foot Lighty suffered the injury – a break of the fifth metatarsal – during spring workouts Tuesday and will have surgery to repair the fracture Friday at the Ohio State Medical Center by Dr. Grant Jones. This is the same injury the Cleveland, Ohio, native experienced in December of 2008 that forced him to miss the remainder of the season and receive a medical redshirt for 2008-09. Typical recovery from this procedure will take up to 12 weeks. – MORE –

Jesse Owens Vote Rounds Final Turn Jesse Owens, a four-time Olympic gold medalist at the 1936 Olympic Games and former Ohio State track and field standout, is a candidate for a national monument to be placed in Washington, DC. Owens, who served as a cultural icon and humanitarian after his athletics career, is one of 10 finalists for a bust to be placed at Statuary Hall on Capitol Hill. – MORE –
