Buckeyes Finish First Over Richmond, William & Mary – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In back-to-back competitions Saturday and Sunday, the Ohio State synchronized swimming team defeated both Richmond and William & Mary, scoring 93 and 105 points, respectively.
First travelling to Richmond, Va., the Buckeyes swept all four routines en route to the 93-37 victory Saturday. It was more of the same the following day in Williamsburg, Va., as Ohio State put 105 points on the board against the Tribe’s 84.
In the team routine, the Scarlet squad, consisting of Jackie Mundy, Paige Ramsey, Lauren Robinson, Deborah Shim, Hannah Shively, Emilie Siemer and Caitlin Stewart, finished first with a mark of 93.083 Richmond. The team placed second at William & Mary with a score of 92.750.
The Gray team – Kayley Colville, Raquel Aguado, Liz Derr, Rita Gillan, Sara Schmidt, Colleen Courtmanche, Jenny Mann and Liana Litsky – placed second, scoring a 90.500 against the Spiders. The group garnered a first-place finish against the Tribe, recording a 94.500.
In the solo routine, Aguado took first place in both competitions, earning an 86.500 against Richmond and recording a score of 91.333 at William & Mary.
Meghan Kinney and Michelle Theriault represented Ohio State in the duet competitions both days. The duo earned a 93.500 the first day against Richmond and finished off their weekend with a score of 92.500 against William & Mary.
In trio, Kinney, Ramsey and Stewart placed first in both competitions. The group earned a mark of 91.500 against the Spiders and a 94.167 vs. the Tribe.
Up next, Ohio State will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., to compete in the 2010 North Regional Championships Feb. 27-28.
